Varun Ghosh made history on Tuesday by becoming the first Indian-born member of the Australian Senate. He was elected to represent Western Australia for the Labor Party. Ghosh, a lawyer and former World Bank consultant, was born in India and moved to Australia with his family when he was 17. Upon assuming the post, he took the oath on the Bhagavad Gita.
