Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam recently answered a range of questions while talking on his space on X (formerly Twitter). Babar, who stepped down as captain of Pakistan across formats last year, spoke on different topics while speaking on “From the Pitch to the Mic: Babar Azam” space on X. While most of the questions were related to cricket, which he answered without any hesitation, the star batter was taken aback by a special query, but the questions wasn’t from a fan. Babar’s Pakistan teammate Mohammad Rizwan also joined the space and asked the former about his marriage details.

However, Babar and Rizwan induldged in a hilarious conversation, which has gone viral on social media.

“Jaanab, aap ki shaadi kab hai? (Mr. when are you getting married?),” asked Rizwan.

“Mujhe pata that aapne yehi sawaal karenge. (I knew you would ask me this question?),” Babar replied.

“Abhi poocha hai toh jawaab dena padega aapko (Now that I have asked, you must answer the question),” Rizwan insisted.

“Murshid, aapko meian akele mein samjhata hoon (I will make you understand that in private),” Babar stated.

Babar further added: “Nowadays, when I wake up in the morning, I find that I am married to someone. People start congratulating me. Then again, in the evening I am married to someone else. People again congratulate me. So I am already married. Now you should focus on someone else.”

“The truth is that my wife is more concerned about when is Babar getting married. She keeps asking me daily.”

Recently, Rizwan had suggested that breaking his successful opening pair with Babar in T20Is has negatively affected the team.

Over the past couple of years, Babar and Rizwan’s partnership has proved to be key for Pakistan. However, following Babar’s decision to step down as captain, the team has gone through a host of changes on and off-the-field.

The new opening partnership of Saim Ayub and Rizwan hasn’t worked out well from the team.

“You can say that it [breaking the opening pair] has hurt (nuksaan hua hai) Pakistan. I can say that Babar bhai has a big heart. We both agreed that there is no issue [in splitting the opening pair]. We both told the management that they can try whatever combination they want. The difficulty arises when you break things that were already working well. However, management is looking at what can be extracted best from different combinations,” Rizwan was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
