The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) troops have located and found the bodies of five Israeli hostages killed in captivity in a Hamas tunnel in northern Gaza.

Three soldiers and two civilians were amongst the five hostages who were abducted on October 7 when Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel.

Video footage posted by the IDF on X showed a camera being lowered down into a Hamas tunnel and navigating through the narrow and dark passage of the tunnel where the bodies of the hostages were recovered. The bodies have been brought back to Israel.

The IDF soldiers are then seen reciting prayers while mourning the dead.
