Nicole Daedone, former CEO of ‘OneTaste’, a wellness company that promoted “orgasmic meditation” for women, appeared in a New York court in Brooklyn on Friday, six months after being accused in the forced labour conspiracy case.

The federal court has set January 13, 2025, as a tentative date for the start of the trial against Daedone and her former head of sales Rachel Cherwitz, in the case, news website, New York Post reported.

The 56-year-old Daedone along with Rachel Cherwitz, are accused by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of recruiting and grooming members to “engage in sexual acts with One Taste’s current and prospective investors, clients, employees and beneficiaries.”

The federal agency, in June 2023, had accused the two women of inducing volunteers, contractors and employees to incur debt to take courses they claimed would heal their sexual trauma and dysfunction.

The two are accused of recruiting people who had experienced prior trauma, and even pushing customers into debts worth thousands of dollars.

“Those who couldn’t afford OneTaste were induced by Daedone and Cherwitz to incur debt and the executives sometimes helped new members open credit cards to pay for the courses”, the US Attorney statement said.

Though the case was lodged against the two last year, Nicole Daedone was initially at large, and later was freed on a bond of $1 million by the court.

If indicted in the case, both Nicole and Rachel Cherwitz might end up in prison for 20 years of punishment.

Founded in 2004, the company was initially hailed for its women-centered approach, but after a 2018 report from Bloomberg, in which former members claimed OneTaste led them to “sexual servitude and five-figure debts”, the FBI began an investigation.

After these severe allegations surfaced, the company shut down all of its operations in 2018.

The company was also the subject of a Netflix documentary, Orgasm Inc, last year, which documented the rise and fall of ‘OneTaste’.
