Israel-Hamas war: Israel expands Gaza offensive, demonstrators demand elections to replace Netanyahu: Top points

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said Israel would not be deterred by genocide charges before the International Court of Justice, as the country kept up bombardments in the Gaza Strip on Saturday. As Sunday marks 100 days of warfighting, with no end in sight, Israel has vowed to press ahead with its offensive to destroy the Islamist movement Hamas.

Further, the country argues that ending the war means victory for Hamas, the Islamic terrorist group that has ruled Gaza since 2007 and is bent on Israel’s destruction. The country also said it was targeting only terrorists and was doing all it could to minimise the harm to non-combatants as it wages urban warfare against Hamas in the densely populated Palestinian enclave.
