Donald Trump defends Kate Middleton’s edited photo, says it is not a big deal

Following the controversy over a photo of Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, posing with her three children, former US President Donald Trump has said it should not be made a big deal.

Trump also said doctoring photographs is quite usual nowadays.

In an interview with GB News, Trump on Tuesday said, “It shouldn’t be a big deal because everybody doctors.”

“You look at these movie actors, then you see them in real life and you say, ‘is that the same person in the picture?’. I looked at that (the picture) actually and it was a very minor doctoring,” Trump said.

The former President’s remarks came in response to a question asking if ‘it was pretty tough being in Kate’s position’.

“It’s a rough period and they are all really going after her,” Trump said.

THE CONTROVERSY

Kate, who is believed to be recovering from an abdominal surgery in January, has not been seen in public for weeks, which has led to some social media speculation over her recovery.

Kensington Palace, the office of the Prince and Princess of Wales, has repeatedly said that she is doing well and that health matters are private.

On March 10 (on the occasion of Mother’s Day in the United Kingdom), Kensington Palace released a royal family portrait showing Kate with her three children – Princes George, 10, Louis, 5, and Princess Charlotte, 8.

A day later, Kate, through her official X account, apologised for “any confusion” caused by the royal family portrait.

Kate also clarified that the discrepancies which led major photo agencies to withdraw the image from circulation were the result of some amateur editing by her.

Royal sources indicated that the picture was an amateur photograph taken by William, Prince of Wales, as the royal family wanted to offer an informal picture of the family together for Mother’s Day.

They added that the princess made some “minor adjustments” to the image and that the family spent Mother’s Day together and had a wonderful day.

Kensington Palace said it would not be reissuing the original unedited photograph of Kate and her children, PTI quoted a BBC report.
