In the early hours of Tuesday, demonstrators at Columbia University shifted their protest to Hamilton Hall, an academic building located east of the encampment that was established to protest Israel’s actions in Gaza.

Around 12.30 am, protesters forcefully entered the building, using wooden chairs, metal tables, and trash cans to barricade themselves inside.

Some formed a human chain to guard the entrance, while others engaged in picketing and led chants advocating for Gaza and urging divestment from Columbia.

Concurrently, demonstrators circled the original encampment in the campus center, which had been occupied by students for nearly two weeks. Outside the campus gates, additional supporters gathered to show solidarity with the protesters.
