A female Dutch pilot miraculously managed to land her aircraft after its canopy suddenly burst open and shattered mid-flight, terrifying video shows.
Narine Melkumjan shared the footage on social media of the moment she encountered the airborne drama in her Extra 330LX aircraft. Despite the shock of the incident, she landed the aircraft safely.
The video shows Melkumjan frantically trying to maintain a grip on the controls in the seconds after the protective barrier ruptured. She could also be seen struggling to keep her eyes open as the wind beat her face while veering the two-seater aircraft back towards the ground.
