An aircraft carrying the message ‘Release Imran Khan’ flew over the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, during the T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan.
Former Pakistani prime minister and cricketer Imran Khan has been in jail since August 2023 on corruption charges. Khan is also fighting dozens of other cases that he and his party say are politically motivated to thwart his return to power.
