Kensington Palace shared a new photo of Princess Charlotte, the only daughter of Britain’s Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton. The photo of the young princess was captured by Kate Middleton and shared by the UK royals to mark her ninth birthday.

“Happy 9th Birthday, Princess Charlotte! Thank you for all of the kind messages today,” Kensington Palace tweeted, while giving image credit to the Princess of Wales.

Princess Charlotte is the second child and only daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The royal couple has two sons – Prince Louis (6) and Prince George (10).

Over the years, Kensington Palace has shared a number of photographs taken by Kate, who has described herself as an “amateur photographer”.

The first official picture of Princess Charlotte along with her brother Prince George in 2015 was taken by Kate Middleton. The photos were shared by the Prince and Princess of Wales to mark important occasions like birthdays, Christmas, etc. Kensington Palace had also shared a photo captured by Kate Middleton for Prince George’s eighth birthday.

A week ago, the UK royals shared a photo of Prince Louis on his sixth birthday. This one was also captured by Kate Middleton in Windsor where the family live.

Kate Middleton’s mysterious disappearance from the public since undergoing surgery in January had led to a wave of speculation and conspiracy theories regarding her health.

Amid speculation over Kate Middleton’s whereabouts, a “manipulated” photo of Princess of Wales Kate Middleton with her three children was distributed by Kensington Palace, leading to an uproar.

Kate Middleton later apologised for the confusion over the family photograph, saying, “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.”

A week later, Kate Middleton revealed that she was undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.

“It has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis (her children) in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok,” Kate Middleton said in a video message.
