2 Indian students killed in Ireland car crash, 2 injured

Two Indian students were killed in a fatal car crash on Friday morning in southern Ireland’s County Carlow town while two others injured were receiving treatment at a hospital. The police said that the accident occurred when a black Audi A6 car veered off from the road and crashed into a tree in Graiguenaspiddoge, near Carlow town.

The Irish Police have identified the deceased as Cherukuri Suresh Chowdhary and Bhargav Chitturi. The Indian Embassy in the Irish capital of Dublin issued a condolence message on social media on Sunday.

Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin, while addressing a gathering at Cork, said he was “shocked” after hearing the news of the crash.

The Embassy of India in Dublin expressed condolences and said it was in contact with the victims’ families and friends.

The embassy also assured support for the two injured passengers, both in their 20s, who were taken to St Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
