The much anticipated Skoda Kylaq – the sub-4 metre compact SUV – finally made its debut in India today. Interestingly the company also revealed the introductory price of its base trim. It’s priced at Rs 7.89 lacs (ex-showroom), thus making it the most affordable car from the brand. Based on the same MQB A0-IN platform, the Kushaq features the same 1.0L TSI (113bhp, 178Nm) that also powers the Slavia and Kushaq. Much like its siblings, this too will be made available with both 6-speed AT and 6-speed MT. To offer better ride quality, Skoda has also reworked on its suspension compared to the Kushaq. It’s 3995mm in length, and has a wheelbase of 2556mm and ground clearance of 189mm.
