The Israeli media is reporting that a senior government official has claimed that Iran was involved in the drone explosion near Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence on Saturday.

Israel’s allegations came hours after a drone, launched from Lebanon, exploded near Netanyahu’s private residence in Caesarea in southern Haifa on Saturday.

Netanyahu and his wife were not present at the time of the attack, which comes two days after Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar was killed in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza.

Earlier in the day, two other drones were downed by air defences, triggering sirens in the Tel Aviv area. The third one, however, struck a building in Caesarea, causing a loud explosion.
