Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a lifeline and a game changer for the country.
Speaking exclusively to India Today TV during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Islamabad, Tarar said that CPEC is Chinese President Xi Jinping’s vision thoroughly implemented in Pakistan.
Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, during the SCO meet, indirectly referred to the CPEC and said that cooperation must be based on mutual respect and sovereign equality, recognising territorial integrity and sovereignty.
With the SCO Summit, Pakistan is playing host to a major diplomatic event after 27 years.
