Israel-Hezbollah conflict intensifies, India Today reports from all fronts

Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, India Today’s Ashutosh Mishra shows an apartment in the southern suburb of Beirut destroyed by an Israeli strike. The building is believed to be the residence of a high-ranking Hezbollah officer. In a separate incident, an Israeli airstrike targeted a residential building in the Mezzeh suburb west of Damascus, Syria, resulting in the deaths of seven civilians and injuries to 11 others, according to Syrian state media.

Meanwhile, India Today’s Ashraf Wani shows one of the most famous nightclubs once packed with visitors in Lebanon converted into a refugee. 

In response to the ongoing conflict with the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a direct appeal to the Lebanese people. Referring to Lebanon as “once the pearl of the Middle East, known for its tolerance and beauty,” Netanyahu urged citizens to reclaim their country, accusing Hezbollah of turning it into “a stockpile of ammunition and a forward Iranian military base.”
