The US is slowly heading to the November 5 election date, the date candidates have spent months preparing for by spending money, explaining policies and shouting rhetoric and making promises. It is undoubtedly an important election for the country with global implications expected. And both the candidates know it.
Vice President Kamala Harris and her Republican rival and former president Donald Trump will soon be heading to settle the electoral competition, with both making promises to give something different to the public.
One that has undoubtedly stood out is Trump’s promise of appointing Tesla CEO Elon Musk as the head of a government department. Musk has a realistic chance of taking a government position, and one with possible oversight commitments, if Trump gets elected – an absurd possibility to consider.
Musk responded to this news. He retweeted another user’s attempt to come up with a name for the new department Musk will head.
The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was what Sky came up with. And Musk caught on to it quickly, realising the former President and his vision.
Whether the fantasy of an entire department in charge of interdepartmental culling becomes a reality or not remains to be seen.
