New Democratic Party leader Jagmeet Singh confronted protesters outside the Canadian Parliament on Monday, September 16, after someone accused him of being a “corrupted bas****.” A video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, showed at least two protesters tailing Singh in a parking lot. One of the protesters asked Singh whether he would support a motion of non-confidence in the government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. As the NDP leader continued walking, someone within earshot called him a “corrupted bas***.” Visibly upset, Singh turned around to approach the protesters who followed him. Pointing at each of them, he repeatedly asked, “Who said it?” After the men denied insulting him, Singh told one of the men that he is a “coward” for not criticising him “to (his) face.” As Singh turned around, one of the protesters was heard saying, “With that aggression, is that why you’re choosing war with Russia?”
