Several shot on highway in US’s Kentucky, gunman at large: Police

Multiple people were shot in yet another shooting in the US. The incident occurred Saturday along the Interstate 75 highway in a rural area south of Lexington, according to authorities.

The local sheriff’s office posted on Facebook warning locals that it was an “active shooter situation” and that “numerous persons” were shot in the incident, the Associated Press reported. It added that the interstate highway was cordoned off for nine miles north of a local town named London.

The Mount Vernon Fire Department, responding to the scene, advised people to stay away from the I-75 route. The department also released a statement noting that a “heavy presence of police and fire personnel” on the scene were “working diligently to address the situation.”
