Elon Musk on Donald Trump considering auditing role for Tesla CEO

Tech titan Elon Musk has expressed his eagerness to be part of a commission being mulled by Republican Donald Trump to audit US agencies if he wins the presidential polls in November. Musk’s reaction came to a report in the Washington Post that said Trump might involve top business executives, including Elon Musk, in auditing government agencies to identify programs for cuts.

“I can’t wait. There is a lot of waste and needless regulation in government that needs to go,” Musk, who has publicly endorsed Trump for the presidential polls, tweeted.

Other potential candidates for the auditing commission include Fred Smith, former CEO of FedEx Corp, and Robert Nardelli, former CEO of Home Depot, according to the report.

The development comes amid growing camaraderie between the duo, with Trump recently calling Musk a “fantastic guy” and a “brilliant person”.

In the past few weeks, Musk has doubled down on his willingness to participate in a “government efficiency commission” under a potential Trump administration.
