British YouTuber Miles Routledge, known for his controversial travel vlogs, ignited a firestorm of criticism after making a series of racist remarks targeting India on social media platform X.

The controversy erupted after Routledge, shared a screenshot of a threatening message from an anonymous X user on Tuesday. Despite no indication of the sender’s nationality, he accused the individual of being Indian.

“Indian threatens to find me, it backfires lmao,” the YouTuber wrote, mocking the user’s message, which stated, “I will find you I promise, your apology video will be sweet.”

Routledge’s response included his address, followed by a mocking imitation of an Indian accent: “Saar okay lord saar good luck saar haha saar.” The post quickly attracted criticism for its racist undertones.

In a separate post, he escalated the situation by making light of using nuclear weapons on India.

“When I become prime minister of England, I’ll open the nuclear silos… I’m itching to launch and atomize entire nations over the smallest infraction,” he wrote. “Hell, I might just launch at India just for the sake of it!”

The comments sparked immediate backlash. Social media users condemned Routledge’s racist tirade, calling him a “loser” and mocking his political aspirations. One user commented, “What makes you think a traitor like you will ever get elected anywhere lol.”

Others pointed out the absurdity of his nuclear threat, highlighting that Britain lacks the necessary capabilities.

When another X user criticised him for “rage-baiting,” he simply stated, “I just don’t like India.”

This isn’t the first time Routledge has displayed racist behaviour. In June, he called Indians the “worst thing” he’s ever smelled. Previously, he expressed a desire to be reincarnated as a virus to “solve” overpopulation in India and Africa.

Routledge, who has over 126,000 subscribers on YouTube, first entered the public eye during his trip to Afghanistan in 2021, where he found himself stranded amid the Taliban’s invasion before being airlifted.

In 2023, he was detained by the Taliban during a subsequent visit to Afghanistan. Despite the eight-month ordeal, Routledge bizarrely described it as “the most enjoyable holiday yet.”

His controversial travels and subsequent social media posts have earned him a reputation as a “danger tourist”.
