A high-ranking prosecutor in New York’s Bronx was forced to resign after allegedly attempting to meet a young boy he communicated with online.
William CC Kemp-Neal, a 30-year-old Bronx Assistant District Attorney, quit his position after a group named Dads Against Predators posted a video online showing him being confronted.
According to the New York Post, Kemp-Neal primarily handled assault, harassment, and child endangerment cases.
The group livestreamed the confrontation on social media, which quickly went viral, sparking widespread outrage and condemnation.
The video showed some men asking Kemp-Neal if he was Marcus. Suddenly, he started running through an underground parking area.
The men chased Kemp-Neal, shouting, “Excuse me, everybody, this man right here came to meet a 13-year-old boy.” The video further shows one of the men catching Kemp-Neal and forcing him to the ground.
The group also assaulted the attorney, questioning his behaviour.
However, according to the New York Post, the police have not filed any charges so far.
Following the incident, a statement from District Attorney Darcel Clark’s office said “William Kemp-Neal worked here as an ADA from June 28, 2020, until July 17, 2024,” and “He resigned from the office”.
