Nepal plane crash: Visuals show last moments, rescue workers sift wreckage

At least 15 people died after an aircraft belonging to a private airline company with 19 people on board crashed during takeoff at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on Wednesday morning.

The plane belonging to Saurya Airlines was carrying 19 people, including the technical staff, and was bound for Nepal’s Pokhara when the incident happened.

After the incident, several visuals emerged on social media platforms during the last moments of the ill-fated aircraft– 9N-AME (CRJ 200).

Nepal Police reached the spot after the crash and rescued at least four people.

In one of the videos, the aircraft could be seen taking a sharp turn at high speed after taking off. While another video showed thick black smoke billowing out from the plane’s wreckage after the crash.

The plane turned into a fireball after the crash.

Meanwhile, another photo after the crash showed the aircraft’s fuselage in severely damaged condition.

After the incident, rescuers reached the spot and started the rescue work.

The pilot of the plane, 37-year-old Manish Shakya, was rescued from the wreckage and taken to a nearby hospital in Sinamangal for treatment.

According to local media reports, the plane belonged to India’s Kuber Group and was acquired in 2019.
