In this horrific day and age, where serial killers, rapists, and masochists make one shiver with fear, a tale of a British crocodile expert who raped, tortured, and killed dogs has become a never-ending trepidation of fear and loathing.
Adam Britton, a 52-year-old average white male, admitted to 60 charges, which included animal abuse and bestialities.
Tears rolled down his eyes as an Australian court sentenced him to 249 years of imprisonment.
The deeds were carried out inside an isolated shipping container last year around his house in Darwin.
Committing the crimes was not enough; Britton also recorded videos while brutalising, sexually abusing, and killing dogs. He picked his victims from pet parents who could not afford to nurture them.
His depraved crime, which is too disgruntling to write about, resulted in the deaths of 39 dogs.
In court, his psychiatric condition was revealed. He has been diagnosed with “paraphilia.” A condition in which an individual experiences recurring, intense, and disturbing sexual fantasies involving inanimate objects, children, or non-consenting adults.
As he underwent psychological evaluation, he expressed remorse for his crimes.
However, while not falling for “remorse”, Crown prosecutor Marty Aust stated that the accused attained “entrenched enjoyment from his convoluted sexual interest in animals.
“There was significant planning to the extent that it was quite a production, with multiple cameras, tripods, various recording equipment, production values, and editing,” he was quoted as saying by the New York Post in its report.
“If you watch that footage, you will see the extreme pleasure and enjoyment that this man had in creating this and doing these acts. His sheer delight goes to the core of it. It’s difficult to read, it’s difficult to hear, but to see it, really is something else,” he added.
The married zoologist, who would post the terrifying videos of animal abuse on his social media channel under the pseudonym “Monster,” managed to keep his diabolical double life secret from his wife Erin for many years.
Erin has reportedly changed her name. However, it must be noted that there is no suggestion that she knew anything about her husband’s horrific crimes.
Born in England’s Yorkshire, Britton was arrested in April 2022 after an anonymous social media user noticed a female dog in one of his online videos was wearing an orange “City of Darwin” leash with the slogan that reads, “Great pets start with use.”
With this evidence, the authorities were able to track Britton, as he had adopted the dogs.
