Hurricane Beryl has disrupted the Indian cricket team’s plans to leave Barbados.
The hurricane, which made landfall on Carriacou in Grenada, tore off doors, windows, and roofs in homes throughout the southeastern Caribbean on Monday.
Barbados shut down all activities, including the international airport, as a precaution.
The Indian cricket team, fresh from their ICC T20 World Cup victory over the weekend, has been confined to the Hilton Hotel since Saturday. They were originally scheduled to depart on Sunday but will now leave on Tuesday, once the airport is back in operation.
