Kamala Harris’s tweet against Trump gets Community Note, Elon Musk mocks her

Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk has often praised the Community Notes feature on the microblogging site, boasting that it ensures that people get correct information. Musk again praised the feature on Monday as he mocked US Vice President Kamala Harris for “lying” in a post she made on X about Donald Trump.

Kamala Harris claimed that Donald Trump, who is up against Democrat candidate Joe Biden in the US presidential race, would ban abortion nationwide if he is voted to power.

“President Joe Biden and I will do everything in our power to stop him and restore women’s reproductive freedom,” Harris added.

The X post underwent crowdsourced fact-checking, with people on the internet adding context to the tweet. The users added links to previous statements made by Donald Trump where he refused to endorse a nationwide abortion ban, leaving the decision to the states.

Elon Musk shared a screenshot of Kamala Harris’s post, along with the inputs from the Community Notes feature.

He wrote, “When will politicians, or at least the intern who runs their account, learn that lying on this platform doesn’t work anymore?”
