A 41-year-old Indian-origin man robbed a London post office after threatening the staff with a fake gun. The crime was committed on April 1.
Rajvinder Kahlon threatened two employees at a post office in Hounslow in West London with what they believed was a firearm before making off with a large quantity of cash. The gun later turned out to be fake.
He has been charged with robbery of £136,000 and possession of a fake firearm.
“On April 1, around 1800hrs, a man entered the Post Office in Brabazon Road, Hounslow. The man threatened two staff members with what they believed was a firearm before fleeing with a significant amount of cash,” stated the Met Police in a statement.
Rajvinder Kahlon was arrested by the Met police from his residence in Hounslow three days after the robbery with the fake gun.
“On Thursday, April 4, Rajvinder Kahlon, 41, was arrested at his home address in Hounslow. He appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, April 6, charged with robbery and possession of an imitation firearm,” said police in a statement.
Kahlon remains in custody and will next appear at Isleworth Crown Court on May 6.
