A 26-year-old man was arrested after he shot dead three members of his family in Philadelphia on Saturday. According to the US media, the accused, identified as Andre Gordon Jr., was arrested in New Jersey after evading law enforcement for hours.

The victims were believed to be the accused’s 52-year-old stepmother, Karen Gordon; his 13-year-old sister, Kera Gordon; and the mother of his children, 25-year-old Taylor Daniel.

The three were shot dead at two homes in eastern Pennsylvania’s Falls Township.

The attack also left the accused’s mother injured, when she was bludgeoned with a rifle.

Three other occupants, including a 14-year-old, hid as the suspect went through the house, searching for them, the report stated.

Meanwhile, the police said they could not establish the motive behind the attack, the Associated Press reported.

Following the attack, the accused had fled in a stolen car, then taking another in a carjacking in a store parking lot, to a house in nearby Trenton, the police said, adding, they surrounded the house on a taped-off block.
