US President Joe Biden once again made a gaffe on camera after he said that America would be airdropping food and supplies into “Ukraine” when he actually meant the Gaza Strip.
Biden made the remark with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni by his side.
Later, White House spokesman John Kirby clarified to reporters that Joe Biden was “referring to Gaza” in his address. The US President mentioned Ukraine twice in his speech.
Biden on Friday hosted Meloni at the White House. While addressing a press briefing, the 81-year-old US President announced America was joining Jordan and other nations who are also airdropping food and supplies into Gaza.
“”In the coming days, we’re going to join with our friends in Jordan and others who are providing airdrops of additional food and supplies,” Biden said, adding the US will “seek to open up other avenues, including possibly a marine corridor”.
However, in his speech, he mistakenly mentioned Ukraine twice instead of Gaza.
Earlier this month, Biden goofed up while mentioning Egyptian President Abd el-Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil El-Sisi and called him the “President of Mexico”. He made the mistake while talking about convincing El-Sisi to open the gates of Rafah Border Crossing that Egypt shares with Gaza to allow the passage of humanitarian aid into the Palestinian region.
He made the mistake immediately after angrily denying claims by special counsel Robert Hur that his memory is “poor” and “faulty”.
Joe Biden’s health has often been questioned due to frequent goof-ups. However, his doctor on February 29 said that an annual physical examination showed that the US President “continues to be fit for duty”.
