A deranged man, who was ranting about wanting “all white people dead”, ended up stabbing two teenage girls at a cafe in New York’s Manhattan on Christmas morning, the New York Post reported.
The incident took place when the two girls were enjoying a Christmas meal with their parents at Tartinery in the Grand Central Dining Concourse around 11:25 am on Monday, police said, adding that the girls sustained non-life-threatening wounds and were receiving treatment at a local hospital.
He then plunged a knife into the 16-year-old’s back, nicking her lungs, and stabbing the 14-year-old in the thigh, police and a law enforcement source said.
The accused, 36-year-old Steven Hutcherson allegedly yelled, “I want all the white people dead. I want to sit next to the crackers.”
Police said Hutcherson had a history of arrests and mental health issues, adding that he allegedly popped up at the restaurant and said he wanted a table but wasn’t going to order anything.
