US President-elect Donald Trump attending a UFC event along with Elon Musk and Dana White was a matter of much tittle-tattle in New York as the Republican received a roaring reception while Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic battled it out for the undisputed heavyweight championship on November 16. However, what also grabbed attention, was a video of the SpaceX CEO purportedly looking at memes and laughing hysterically while sitting next to Donald Trump.

In a video shared by an X user, Musk, who donated millions of dollars to Trump’s presidential campaign, can be seen laughing out loud while looking at his phone.

“Elon sitting next to Trump tonight, scrolling and cracking up at memes,” the X user said while sharing the video. Elon Musk, who accompanied the President-elect for the headline event in the octagon at UFC 309, responded to the tweet, saying, “I’m watching myself watch this.”

Donald Trump entered the arena to loud music and waved at the crowd. He also raised his fist towards the crowd, recreating a moment from his Pennsylvania rally, where he narrowly escaped death. The moment came after UFC aired a video highlighting his campaign to return to the White House, titled “The Great Comeback in American History”.

Trump was also accompanied by UFC CEO Dana White, who gave a thunderous speech at the Republican’s victory rally in Florida. The President-elect sat between Elon Musk and Dana White for most of the night, but paid close attention to the matches and was even spotted speaking to the fighters after their ties.

Donald Trump considers Dana White a close friend and believes UFC fans to be a massive part of his support base.

Jon Jones, who defeated Stipe Miocic for the heavyweight championship, thanked Donald Trump in his speech. This was Trump’s second appearance at an event outside of Palm Beach, Florida since his thumping win against outgoing Vice President Kamala Harris.

The 78-year-old Republican flew to Washington on Wednesday to meet with President Joe Biden at the White House, and has otherwise been filling cabinet positions for his incoming administration from his Mar-a-Lago resort.
