Why cat-saviour Donald Trump can’t stand cat-lady Taylor Swift

The 2024 US presidential election has an element of a cat fight in it. Iconic pop star Taylor Swift has endorsed the Democratic Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris and ended her endorsement note, calling herself a “cat lady”. This even as Donald Trump, former President and Republican Presidential candidate, discussed a cat-eating immigrant population in the US and was hailed as a “cat saviour”. But things aren’t purrfect between Trump and Taylor.

When asked about his opinion on Taylor Swift’s endorsement, Trump said, “She will pay a price for it in the marketplace”. As it turns out, cat-saviour Trump cannot stand cat-lady Taylor.

Taylor Swift is a known cat lady and has three cats: Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button.

The pop singer’s reference to herself as a cat lady isn’t without history.

‘TAYLOR SWIFT, A CHILDLESS CAT LADY’ ENDORSES HARRIS

This started with Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris after the Trump-Harris debate on September 10.

“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” Swift said in her endorsement note.

This note ended with “Taylor Swift, a childless cat lady.”

The “childless cat lady” sprang up in the US elections when Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, lamented the US being run by “a bunch of childless-cat ladies,” including Harris.

Now, Trump has responded to Harris’s endorsement by Swift. Trump responded in a Fox & Friends interview. He said she always endorses Democrats and she will pay the price for it in the market.

“I was not a Taylor Swift fan, it was just a question of time. She couldn’t, uh, you couldn’t possibly endorse Biden. You look at Biden, you couldn’t possibly endorse him.”

“But she’s [Swift] a very liberal person, she seems to always endorse a Democrat, and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace,” he added.

Elon Musk also responded to Swift, and he even brought up cats in his comments.

“Fine Taylor… you win… I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life,” Elon Musk posted on X.

‘I LIKE BRITANNY MUCH BETTER THAN TAYLOR’: TRUMP

There are AI- generated photos of Trump all over the internet. He is seen using swords, saving cats and other animals.

Trump had also spoken about guarding cats.

“They are eating the dogs — the people that came in, they’re eating the cats. They’re eating — they’re eating the pets of the people that live there and this is what’s happening in our country, and it’s a shame,” Trump said during his presidential debate with Kamala Harris.

Now, pictures of Trump saving cats are all over the internet.

Trump also revealed his favourite, Britanny.

In his interview with Fox, Donald Trump mentioned he likes Brittany Mahomes, a former soccer player who received flak for liking one of Trump’s social media posts.

“I like Brittany, I think she’s great. Brittany got a lot of news last week. She’s a big MAGA fan, that’s the one I like much better than Taylor Swift,” he said.

It turns out, the cat-saviour Trump does not like cat-lady Harris. But one thing is for sure, in America, elections have suddenly got a furry angle, and cat references are raining like cats and dogs.
