A New York City woman is seeking a hefty $500,000 (Rs 4.2 crore approx.) in damages from the Hard Rock Cafe & Hotel in the Dominican Republic after a golf cart mishap left her injured, according to the New York Post.

Taylor O’Leary, a 27-year-old Brooklyn resident, claims she suffered multiple undisclosed injuries when she tumbled out of a golf cart on the grounds of the Hard Rock Golf Club in July 2022.

The lawsuit, filed in Brooklyn Federal Court, alleges that the golf cart seat was wet and slippery, causing her to fall.

O’Leary, who was a guest at the five-star luxury resort, has named both the hotel and its parent company, Hard Rock Cafe International, as defendants.

Known for its opulent amenities and stunning beachfront location, the Hard Rock Cafe & Hotel has hosted a string of celebrities, including Justin Bieber, Shakira, and Mariah Carey.

The golf course, designed by American golfing great Jack Nicklaus, is a popular attraction with a green fee of $300 (Rs 25,000 approx.).

Neither O’Leary, nor Hard Rock have issued a statement on the lawsuit.
