Nikki Haley urges Republicans to focus on public needs, not Kamala Harris

Former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley has some advice for her Republican friends. She is asking them to “quit whining”. Haley is suggesting fellow Republicans to stop complaining about the Democratic Presidential nominee and instead focus on the needs of the American people. As polls show Harris gaining an edge over Donald Trump in key states, Haley has emphasised the importance of a campaign strategy which is centered on the public’s needs.

Nikki Haley, a former Republican presidential candidate, and Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, are both Indian-American politicians.

During her Tuesday appearance on Fox News’s Special Report, Haley told Republicans and Trump to “quit whining” about Harris’s run in this year’s elections.

“One thing Republicans have to stop, don’t quit whining about her. We knew it was going to be her. She’s not going to give an interview. They’re going to hold out as long as they can. That’s their right. They can do it. That doesn’t mean we can’t talk about what she believes in,” said Nikki Haley.

Haley’s advice has come a time when both Democrats and Republicans are attacking each other on all fronts, almost three months before the US elections.

The presidential election will be held on November 5 between Kamala Harris, a Democrat, and Donald Trump, a Republican.

REPUBLICAN CAMPAIGN SHOULD FOCUS ON PUBLIC NEEDS

Nikki Haley, an Indian-American politician, stated that the Republican Party needs to make a serious shift.

Haley’s advice comes as Harris gains momentum in key battleground states ahead of the November election.

She said, “The first thing the Republican Party, Donald Trump, and people here at Fox need to do is quit complaining that Kamala Harris is not giving an interview. You don’t need an interview from Kamala Harris.”

Haley further explained that Harris would refrain from giving interviews and that Republicans should focus on her policy positions.

“I take her at her word that she thinks that illegal immigrants should be able to vote and be given driver’s license. I take her at her word that she wants to ban fracking and kill a bunch of US jobs. Take her at her word,” Haley said.

The former UN ambassador and South Carolina governor emphasized that the Trump campaign must focus on the public’s needs rather than attacking Harris on her race and intellectual abilities.

Nikki Haley had also predicted earlier that Joe Biden would leave the race for the White House.

“Mark my words… Biden will not be the Democratic nominee. Republicans, get your guard up!” Haley wrote on X, after Biden’s poor performance during the CNN presidential debate against Trump on June 27 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Earlier, Republicans had attacked Kamala Harris for using her black identity.

If Republicans take Haley’s advice, the political contest in the US is going to get more public-centered on both sides. The winner will be democracy and the American people.
