Britain’s Keir Starmer will be the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom as his Labour Party registered a landslide victory in the general elections. The Labour Party crossed the magic number of 326 in the 650-seat Parliament swimmingly, prompting incumbent Rishi Sunak to concede defeat.
Addressing a victory rally in London, Starmer said that such a big mandate comes with a great responsibility and that ‘change begins now’.
Keir Starmer won his seat in north London but on a much-reduced majority, the Associated Press reported. After his victory, the Labour leader said “voters have spoken and they are ready for change”.
